Reality TV lovers should supplicate at the alter of Bravo Channel for another glorious season of The Real Housewives of New York City. Season 3 will premiere Thursday March 4th, at 10pm ET/PT. Bravo has become the go-to channel for reality TV’s guiltiest pleasures. They are bringing back our favorite social climbing, ostentatiously oh-so-charitable, cat fighting, one-upmanship, outright bitchy — and just plain real NY wives.
The returning cast consists of:
The Countess, who must try not to drown in the rain with her nose so high in the air, soon to be divorced from the Count but keeping her ‘title,’ LuAnn de Lesseps. Despite her own numerous etiquette faux pas, she is gifting the world with a book on manners because she so charitably saw the need we commoners have for her help in that department.
Bethenny Frankel, the skinny bitch herself, celebrity health food chef, with a best selling book on the market, a tongue that could facet diamonds, newly engaged to Jason Hoppy, and expecting in early summer.
Kelly Killoren-Bensimon, the aging model who comes across as dumb as a brick with an equally acerbic charm. How she ever earned a degree or worked a job where she had to put together a coherent sentence is beyond me.
Alec McCord, the social climber, living in a renovation nightmare with her gay, Speedo-wearing (put the blinders on for those scenes) husband and two french speaking absolute genius little boys.
Ramona Singer, hypocrite extraordinaire, she of the crazy eyes, viper tongue and propensity to bash others openly and then act like the victim.
And last, but certainly not least, my personal favorite Jill Zarin of Zarin Fabrics. Jill’s newly reduced breasts will be present, as will her outlandish diamonds. She has the one accessory loved by all: her Jewish mother Gloria who freely dispenses her loving words of wisdom.
There are two new additions to the cast this season, Sonja Morgan and Jennifer Gilbert, Lets hope they add more to the mix than Kelly did. Kelly was more of an annoyance added to last season than anything else and most were hoping she would not be returning. There is a certain amount of amusement to be had watching Bethany let fly with well aimed, impeccable zingers that zip right over Kelly’s head.
